History

VANO is today editor of a Home Decoration Fabrics collection; this is a 3 generations evolution. The Company Pierre VAN OOST, name of his founder, has been created in 1969. Nevertheless its activities started before. Pierre VAN OOST was since 1951 sale representatives for different houses and developed with his daughter Thérèse a wholesale activity. The Maison VAN OOST was established in Brussels in the Avenue Louise area, and in 1959 the VANO denomination was used and the acquisition of new distribution cards enabled the company to expand in Brussels and Belgium.

In 1991, following the take over by its actual owner, François VAN OOST, the company moved to the suburb of Brussels, in Wavre, in a new building,. Following the market evolution, the new strategy focused on developing its activity as Editor and new markets. Decision was made to move out of Belgium. The collection grew bigger and could be offered on the Dutch and French markets.

VANO is today distributed through a selected channel of retailers in BENELUX and FRANCE but also on other markets
